Patrick Lydon FCA – Senior Partner
Having ultimate responsibility for the management of the practice, Patrick continues to specialise in the provision of Corporate Services.
Patrick was educated in Bolton and subsequently trained and qualified with Warings in 1978. He then left to obtain wider corporate experience with one of the leading international practices before returning to Warings in 1980 then becoming a partner in 1983.
Our provision of Corporate Services, where Patrick specialises, includes the sale and purchase of businesses, strategic planning, corporate tax planning, capital tax and estate planning.

Ray Darby FCA – Managing Partner
Ray was educated at Bolton School and spent some of his training at Warings.
He re-joined Warings in December 2010 after being Managing Partner with another Bolton firm.
His specialisms are Owner Managed Businesses, General Practice Services and SMEs.

Helen Chambers BSc FCA CTA - Partner and Tax Specialist
Helen is our dedicated tax partner and at the head of our tax team. She takes overall responsibility for our provision of taxation services.
Having qualified in 1979, she has over 25 years’ experience as a specialist in taxation. Helen joined Warings in 1985, being admitted to the partnership in 1989.
Helen has in depth experience in all areas of taxation but specialises in advising on estate and capital tax planning and the establishment and administration of family trusts.

Nicola Roby ACA FCCA - Corporate Partner
Nicola heads the provision of corporate services within our Business Solutions Department.
Having qualified with another well known Bolton practice, Nicola joined Warings in 1995, soon taking on the role of audit manager, and became a partner in October 1999.
Nicola has substantial experience in corporate services but also has responsibility for the implementation and management of computerised accounting systems for many of our clients.

Christine Maxwell - Hodkinson BA(Hons) ACA FCCA – Business Solutions Partner
Christine has direct responsibility for the management of our Business Solutions Department and the training development of its staff, whilst ensuring the quality and efficiency of the service delivery to all of our clients.
Educated at Canon Slade School and Manchester University, Christine joined Warings in September 2010 having had over 20 years’ experience of both accounts preparation and auditing at two other local accountancy practices.
She qualified in 1995 as a Certified Accountant but also became a member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in 2011 and brings with her a vast amount of experience of dealing with various small, medium and large companies including charities.
